Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

At First Optic we care deeply about your health.

The safety of our customers and co-workers remains the highest priority so we have been working hard to welcome you back safely.

We have been open the whole way through lockdown as the South Powys eye care hub. We have provided emergency and essential eye care to our local community. We also provide an independent prescribing service for anyone who may require medication as a result of their eye condition and as such we are better equipped to save patients from having to travel to the eye casualty department in Hereford. We also have an OCT scanner that gives us a clear view of any microscopic changes to the retina.

We are now open for routine sight tests. If anybody is sheilding they are more than welcome to have the first appointment of the day / afternoon where we can minimise the number of people in the shop.
We are still operating a locked door appointment only system and aim to do so until we decide it’s safe. All patients will be asked to sanitise their hands on entry. All staff are in PPE and observing social distancing wherever possible.

The testing room is scrubbed down between every patient. We are still allowing patients to try on frames but asking that anything tried on is left on the side for us to disinfect it before it is returned to the shelf.

Again we will either post any specs out or book an appointment for collection.
